Bruce Altig

After 30+ years in the printing industry around the Boise Valley, Bruce decided to go into a business where he could actually help people with navigating the confusion of the health insurance plans.

He started with Insurers of Idaho in January 2010, just when things started getting interesting with the new PPACA laws going into effect. Because of the timing of his immersion in the insurance business, he has studied the differences between the existing plans and the new laws and changes that are coming up.

Bruce is licensed in Idaho and Washington and knowledgeable with the plans in both states.

Michael A. Kamplain

Broker

Michael entered the insurance and financial field in 1985. He began his career with New York Life where he was trained in all aspects of life insurance, business insurance planning, securities and investments.

He has also worked for a number of insurance companies over the years where he learned underwriting and agency protocols. His current focus and expertise is employee benefits planning. This includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision plans, disability, life insurance, accident plans and long term care. He also works with families and individuals to make sure they have the best insurance programs available.

Knute M. Kleven

Broker

Knute loves assessing and understanding clients insurance questions, concerns, and needs and then helping them make their best insurance choices. He received his first insurance license in 1998 and is currently Property and Casualty licensed in all 50 states.

Knute's work history is rich in customer service, strategic management, marketing, sales, and is a great asset to each and every potential client he works with. His employment background includes working as the Branch Manager and Chief Certified Appraiser for Josephs Appraisal Group; Project Manager at a Marketing Firm over the Sam's Club and ShopKo accounts; Hi-Tech Business Development Representative, a Mortgage Banker/Broker, as well as owning his own appraisal firm for over 6 years.

He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He obtained a Bachelors degree in Business management with an Entrepreneurial emphasis and an Accounting/Economics Minor from Brigham Young University.

• Receiving the Austin Under 40 Award
• Serving as an Honorary Co-Chairman for the Business Advisory Council

In his spare time he loves: Volleyball, Racquetball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Basketball, Snow Skiing, Snow Boarding, Water Skiing, Wake Boarding, Wake Surfing, Surfing, River Rafting, Ultimate Frisbee Football, Camping, Community Service, and Automobile Restoration. One of his favorite restoration projects was a 1965 Ford Mustang for his long time friend and actor/producer Courtney Gains.

Byron Stepherson

Byron has been active in the insurance industry since 2007 after fifteen years in banking. Having the experience of managing $20 billion credit and loan portfolios while keeping thousands of customers happy, Byron enjoys working on a personal level with his clients.

He and his wife Donna have been happily married for 19 years and have four awesome, active teenagers. They enjoy camping, snowboarding, and going to amusement parks and are active in their church.

In his spare time Byron likes to write. He writes a monthly movie critique column for an Idaho newspaper, has published an article on Health Care Reform, has an active Tweet account, and is busy trying to find an agent for his screenplays and novels.

He is licensed in Idaho and Washington for health insurance. He can also help broker your personal and commercial insurance as well assist with Human Resource Management, payroll, and Workers Compensation.

David J. Watton

Preferred Broker/President

David has been active in the insurance industry since 1999. After working for several different insurance brokerage firms David founded Insurers of Idaho in 2004. Since that time Insurers of Idaho has grown to be one of the larger health insurance brokerage firms in Idaho. David stays busy running the day to day operations of the company. He also sits on advisory boards with several insurance carriers, is active and currently serves on the board for the Treasure Valley Health Underwriters. David is a preferred broker with; Blue Cross of Idaho, Regence Blue Shield, Pacific Source and Altius Health Plans. David is the father of four children, and spends as much time with them as possible. He loves the outdoors, mountain bike riding, snowboarding, college football and is active in his church.

Shilo Garrison

Administrative Assistant

Shilo joined Insurers of Idaho in April 2011. She works in the support roll for the staff and several agents in the office. She also handles all aspects of service for our senior products. Laci is a Licensed Agent in Health, Life and Disability. She has over 8 years experience in the insurance industry. She has managed COBRA and supported several Brokers. Laci focuses on taking care of client needs and providing support on a daily basis. Her life is very active. She is married and has 2 little girls that keep her going.

Tina Purbeck

Tina joined Insurers of Idaho in April, 2011. She processess Individual enrollments, as well as provides Administrative & Customer Service. Away from the office, Tina loves spending time with her family, is active in her church and enjoys watching football, soccer, cross country and track.
